About the Partnership & Fundraiser
All participants who donate or raise $250 or more by May 24, 2023 will receive the benefits associated with Team Children’s Mercy.
Founded in 1897, Children’s Mercy is a leading independent children’s health organization dedicated to holistic care, translational research, educating caregivers and breakthrough innovation to create a world of well-being for all children. With not-for-profit hospitals in Missouri and Kansas, and numerous specialty clinics in both states, Children’s Mercy provides the highest level of care for children from birth through the age of 21.
Leading into our 50th Anniversary of the Hospital Hill Run in June, we’re excited to provide individual team and fundraising options for all runners. Runners can fundraise to earn prizes and create and join teams while participating in our Half Marathon, 10k or 5k.
A portion of every Hospital Hill Run race entry, along with 100% of funds raised through the Hospital Hill Run fundraiser, will go directly to the ‘I Love Children’s Mercy Fund.’ The fund provides advanced medical treatments, compassionate care, and fuels world-class research.
"As two long-standing fixtures, we are thrilled to partner with Children's Mercy, who makes such an incredible impact for children within our community and stands with us in our focus on health and wellness."

$250 could help provide a one-week supply of playroom toys: Kids need a chance to be kids, no matter what they are going through. Colorful toys and activities in our playrooms and waiting rooms let little ones do what they do best – have fun – even while they’re at the hospital!
$500 could help provide a two-week supply of items for the Clothing Closet On any given day, an infant, child, or teenager may enter the hospital under circumstances their families couldn’t anticipate or plan for. The Clothing Closet gives a sense of relief and comfort for families in these emergency situations by providing clothes and toiletries for families in need.
$1,000 could help provide a one-month supply of distraction toys: Whether a needle poke or intensive treatment for a health challenge, hospital visits can be scary for a child. Things like bubbles, books, and spinners help distract kids and keep their spirits up.

Children’s mercy story
Ashlynn, 14, loves to run, play the saxophone, and can’t wait to get her driver’s permit… She also happens to have Spastic Diplegia, a form of cerebral palsy that makes muscle movement stiff or uncoordinated, but that hasn’t stopped her from running!
Dr. Matthew McLaughlin, her Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist, once asked her to run a race together, and they’ve been teaming up for local 5ks since, including the Hospital Hill Run three times.
They love that the Hospital Hill Run supports Children’s Mercy and they plan to run again on June 4, 2022.
Support patients like Ashlynn by registering today and fundraising for Children’s Mercy in 2022!
Children’s mercy story
Creed’s parents knew there was a health issue at their 20-week ultrasound appointment. It was the day they named him Creed, meaning to “believe or have faith.” Creed’s bladder was enlarged, causing his body to shut down, and he was only given a 14% chance of life. He was delivered at Children’s Mercy in 2019 and spent nearly three months in the NICU. He had a complex case and has received care from over 15 specialists at Children’s Mercy and most recently received a kidney transplant in 2021. This was a turning point in his care, and today, Creed is a vibrant, happy toddler who is beating all odds thanks to the generosity of people like you.
